Nothing new from the treasurer - except strong balance sheets

Our balance sheet was strong in the financial year of 2023 and the tax office recently confirmed our non-profit status again. Support for the SYC is therefore also secure for the future!

In the past year, we registered a slight increase in income, while our annual support for the SYC remained constant at € 4,000. Our income was split roughly equally between membership fees and individual donations.

Many thanks to our supporting members and donors, who make our continuous and valuable work possible!
— Lauritz Hahn, Chairman Biyoom

Some of you may remember that we recently had slightly higher administrative expenses than we would have liked due to fees charged by Stadsparkasse München (our bank). We are therefore very pleased that we have now been able to rectify this and, as a non-profit association, will be assigned to the customer group without a base account fee again starting 2024. Due to bank charges and the purchase of new flyers, 93% of our income went directly to projects in Saboba this year, which is slightly less than in previous years. We hope to be able to increase this figure again next year.

Outlook

For 2024, we are already able to forecast an increase in expenditure without this having a negative impact on our overall balance sheet. We received € 1,300 from German NGO “Weitblick e.V.” for direct forwarding to Saboba, which was collected in a special fundraising campaign. This cooperation is planned to continue in the future.

There are also additional expenses for the SYC due to Lauritz, Helene and Fabian's trip, which we are paying from the our budget so that the normal project activities in Saboba are not financially burdened by our visit.
