Together with the Saboba Youth Center for a better future in northern Ghana
The Saboba Youth Centre (SYC), a local initiative of young adults in Saboba in north-eastern Ghana, is committed to offering the next generation more and better economic, political and social prospects.
At Biyoom e.V., we support the efforts of our Ghanaian friends with donations and material resources. We also want to share our enthusiasm for their great work with you.

Ongoing Projects
Green my Community
In order to reforest the land, the SYC has planted over 17,000 trees together with the inhabitants of various villages. In addition to contributing to protecting the climate, the fruit and wood provide additional income for the village communities. The SYC grows the seedlings of various tree species and teaches the communities the necessary skills.
Savings Groups
Community members can join together to form village savings and loans associations (VSLA). Each week, participants can deposit money into the savings box, from which loans can then be granted to group members. At the end of a savings cycle, everyone receives their shares back with a profit. In this way, financial risks are shared and participants have greater economic freedom.
E-Library
The E-Library is a computer room in which the SYC teaches children and young adults IT and media skills which they cannot learn at school due to a lack of technical equipment. A pilot phase has started, but the project is still being developed.
Kinder- & Jugendparlamente
In this project, children and young adults learn about democratic processes and can try them out directly by debating real-life problems. Following the debate, the SYC lobbies political actors for the implementation of the proposals.
