Annual Members’ Meeting with a View

At the beginning of May, the annual general meeting took place for the first time as an in-person event in the Rhine Valley, which gave us the opportunity to combine the useful with the pleasant and spend a sociable time together.

Despite the geographical distance between the members, most of us were able to make the trip to Sankt Goarshausen, very close to the famous Loreley: Fabian and Julian came from Munich, Anna from Cologne, Max from Kiel, Lauritz from Dresden and even the most distant members, such as Helene in England, were able to take part in the most important exchanges via Zoom.

It was nice to meet up not only virtually! On this extended weekend, there were lots of formal and informal discussions, time to cook together, short hikes, board games and of course Italian ice cream, as the temperatures were already very summery!

Everyone found their place in this alternately serious and relaxed, associative and friendly atmosphere. While some used their cooking skills, others took on the role of hiking guides, humorists, or activity coordinators, making for a weekend full of laughter, sports and lively meals. This time together allowed us not only to reflect on the future of Biyoom and the association's future projects, but also to feel and strengthen our friendship.

The general meeting itself also went well. Discussions focused on the trip to Saboba last September and new ideas that were discussed there with the Saboba Youth Center or came up afterwards. Overall, we can look back on a successful year in which we were able to send more donations to the SYC than ever before.

Over the course of the weekend, we also continued to work on our website, developed our new newsletter design and did a few other things behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly at the association

A big thank you to everyone who attended this fifth general meeting, a testament to your commitment to the association and the friendship that binds us together. We are already looking forward to the 2026 edition, which we hope will be just as rich in discussion and joy!
