The Finances of Biyoom 2025
Biyoom’s finances as of 08th Dec. 2025Every year, we like to give you a little insight into the finances of the year coming to a close in our Christmas newsletter. Fortunately, thanks to many donations, 2025 was once again significantly more successful than 2024, which had already been the most profitable year in our association's history to date. The many donations enabled the SYC to purchase several new laptops and two new motorcycles, in addition to covering ongoing project costs (as you can read in the article about the news from Saboba).
Overview & Income
Account overview 2025
2025 was another extremely successful year for Biyoom. By the beginning of December, we had raised almost €14,000 in donations and a further €2,700 in membership fees, bringing our total income to more than €16,000!
The donation amount is so high because this year we received large external donations from private donors as well as from Weitblick e.V. and the Rotary Club Dorfen. The Rotary Club's donation was earmarked for a new motorcycle for the SYC and laptops for the “E-Library.” We forwarded this donation directly to the SYC, as can be clearly seen from the two larger “dips” in the account balance history. First, we transferred €8,750 in March as our annual transfer and then €2,400 in August, which had been donated by the Rotary Club.
Due to the many large donations, it is almost forgotten, but should not be underestimated: the positive effect of the supporting membership contributions! These ensure that we currently have more than €13,000 in our account (despite the large transfers to Ghana over the course of the year). The annual transfer to SYC at the beginning of 2026 can therefore be expected to exceed the €4,000 of recent years – a huge thank you to all the many donors!
Biyoom e.V.'s income in 2025 as of December 8: this year, more than €13,000 in donations have been received, which is more than ever before.
Expenses
This year's expenses are once again very encouraging. The lion's share of our expenses is, of course, the transfer of donations to Ghana. We transferred a total of €11,150 to SYC: €6,750 from Biyoom's “own” donations and membership fees, €2,000 from the Weitblick e.V. fundraising campaign, and €2,400 from the Rotary Club Dorfen.
Bank and transfer fees, website costs, and the fees required every few years for the association register account for the remaining expenses. Overall, this gives us an “efficiency rating” of almost 98.5%—or, in other words, we have operational overheads of just 1.5%!
Looking back at 2025
In 2025, we were able to consolidate our cooperation with other organizations in Germany: Weitblick e.V. once again supported us with a generous donation after a fundraising campaign in Osnabrück. We are also very pleased that the Rotary Club Dorfen has resumed its support from several years ago and even expanded it. In addition, 2025 saw more (and larger) donations from private individuals than ever before! One reason for this was that, for example, one member asked for donations to Biyoom instead of birthday gifts, which we are very happy about, as this not only generates funds for the SYC, but also brings new people into contact with our cause!
Despite this encouraging willingness to make large individual donations, our long-term goal remains to grow the association by gaining additional supporting members—something we have already achieved to a small extent this year with one new supporting member joining the association!
However, we are also trying to expand our efforts in the area of donations in kind and have the potential opportunity to acquire some of the “old” devices from one of our employers at a symbolic price after they have upgraded their staff's laptops. Ideally, we will be able to send some devices to Ghana next year to further support the growth of the SYC's e-library.
At this point, we would like to once again express our huge thanks to the numerous donors and our supporting members! It is only thanks to the donations of so many people that we have been able to further expand our support for the SYC this year. We are delighted that so many people find the ideas and efforts of the SYC worthy of support!
